About Us

Judy and Gerry Webb, the owners of the property, met and married whilst they were both enjoying full careers as Army Officers.  Judy took over as Headmistress of Rossholme School in 1986 and was joined by Gerry as Head of ICT a couple of years later.  Their two children, Alex and Emily, now both students, were brought up at Rossholme.  Sadly the school closed in 2005 but this gave them the opportunity to create the self catering holiday accommodation which is now proving so popular.

Judy was the first woman to command an all male field force unit in the British Army and both she and Gerry gained enormous experience of leadership, management and team building.  They have both travelled extensively, enjoyed active social lives and experienced holiday accommodation at its best and worst!  An eye for detail and a capacity for hard work have enabled them to create and develop both the holiday accommodation and Clocktower Events.

Pat Payne  co-ordinates your booking, organises the turn around of the properties and is committed to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. She has been at Rossholme for many years and brings a wealth of knowledge and attention to detail. Ask Pat about Welcome Packs, Catered Meals in the Houses, local activities and event options at The Clocktower.

Families are important at Rossholme and so Pat’s son Dave Payne is also a vital member of the team.  Normally seen wielding a paint brush or screw driver, he ensures that the houses are well maintained and always checks meticulously to ensure that any damage or breakages are quickly put right.  Good at heavy lifting, he also ensures that The Clocktower has exactly the right layout of tables, chairs, desks etc for different functions, events and activities.
